Dickinson Texas did not experience much growth but shortly after 2005 developers started buying and developing large tracts of land on the West side of I-45 South. A discount Mall was added South of the City on the West side of I-45.
This growth is part of the boom that Galveston County is experiencing. Plans are for the continued growth of this area. This is being stimulated by the high cost of housing in Harris County(Houston). These bedroom communities are bringing new economic opportunities to Galveston County and Dickinson.
