We’re looking forward to welcoming new and returning guests in the coming months. While you’re here, why not check out some of the best restaurants in the area? Here’s a list of some of our very favorites. With so much variety, there’s some grub for everyone to enjoy!
The Backyard is about a 15-minute drive from our RV Park in San Leon. This all-American restaurant makes the best mac and cheese in the area! Open Thursday to Sunday, it’s in an old house in the city of Seabrook with a lovely outdoor eating area with large trees that are perfect for the summer months. The variety of craft beers means there’s a beverage to suit all tastes! This place consistently gets great reviews from locals and visitors and is well worth a visit during your stay. The chicken wings and fried avocado bites are also delicious!
2. True Southern Hospitality
Skipper’s Cafe in Kemah is open seven days a week with great service and good food. Offering true southern hospitality, it’s a great breakfast choice that’s only about a 15-minute drive from Bay RV Park. The country potatoes and cream gravy with toast are tasty and the iced-tea is great on a hot day.
3. All-You-Can-Eat Sushi
Ohayo Sushi is the restaurant for you if you love sushi and have a big appetite! It’s in nearby Webster, about 20 minutes away by car, and offers a daily all-you-can-eat menu of seafood and Japanese fusion. There are loads of appetizers to choose from, along with soup, sashimi, hot plates, and, of course, sushi! All food is freshly prepared and they cater to your tastes if you want to order something unique.
4. A Seafood Lover’s Paradise
Pier 6 is a brilliant choice for seafood lovers and anyone who enjoys a view. This restaurant is in San Leon, so it’s only a 5-minute drive (or 45-minute walk if you enjoy taking a stroll) from Bay RV Park. It’s bright and open, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering scenic views of the bay. There’s also a patio for warmer weather. Not a lot of options if you don’t like seafood, but the desserts are also worth a try. The chocolate peppermint cake is amazing!
5. Good Food & Live Music
Prohibition 52 is a taphouse and kitchen located about 10 minutes drive away, near the Kemah Boardwalk. There are plenty of food options on the menu, including an excellent selection of starters, tacos, burgers, and sandwiches. The nachos and loaded fries are both a good choice and are available on their Social Hour discount menu (from 4pm to 7pm). It’s got a great atmosphere and offers over 50 types of beer, as well as signature cocktails. There’s even live music on different nights. Definitely worth checking out for a fun night out.
6. The Best Sunset View
Schafer’s Coastal Bar & Grill is situated at Clear Lakes Shores, about 15 minutes drive from Bay RV Park. This restaurant and bar is open every day except Monday and offers casual coastal dining right on the lake. It’s got a patio with some beautiful views at sunset and an extensive wine list to choose from. Offering happy hour from 4pm, the menu has some great seafood options including oysters, ceviche, calamari and some delicious red snapper. If you enjoy seafood, it’s definitely worth a visit.
7. A Perfect Spot for Brunch
The Bay Patio is in El Lago, about a 15-minute drive away and right on Clear Lake. It offers some magical views and is a great Sunday brunch option. The staff here are super friendly and the service is great. We recommend the pancakes for brunch and be sure to make a reservation as it can get busy. If you’re heading for dinner, the fish tacos are a good choice and the pan-fried trout is delicious!
8. The Perfect Steakhouse!
We couldn’t finish our top 8 list without mentioning where to get yourself a decent steak! T-Bone Tom’s is near the Kemah Boardwalk, so it takes about 15 minutes to drive there. This locally owned family steakhouse offers a great menu and amazing customer service. Serving certified Angus beef, Texas BBQ, and delicious seafood, this place has been around since 1974. They offer live music six nights a week and are open until late. Given they’re locally owned, they also source local ingredients, so you’re really supporting our local community by dining here.
